The Chairman's Introduction

Hazlemere Parish Council Chairman's Statement for 2020/2021

I am honoured to be re-elected as Chairman of Hazlemere Parish Council, and looking forward to getting going with my fellow Councillors on a busy year ahead! We have many plans for Hazlemere including:

  • Development of a Neighbourhood Plan, which will give us a shared vision for future planning matters, and a stronger voice
  • Projects to counter climate change, through a very active Climate Change Working Party
  • Extending our work with the Covid-19 Support Group to look at other ways of making Hazlemere an even friendlier place to live
  • Ensuring our halls and green spaces are well-maintained, and looking at how we can develop our local facilities.

We have a strong and active group of Councillors on your Parish Council, including two County Councillors, Catherine Oliver and Ed Gemmell. I am particularly pleased that so many people have put their names forward to be co-opted onto the Council. However, you don’t have to be a Councillor to get involved: our Working Parties are keen to hear from people who are interested in particular issues such as planning or climate change, or who want to get involved in individual projects such as Bee Squared (thanks to Sarah Coope for leading on this!).

We can’t do this without our staff in the office: the Clerk, Ali Banham and her team, Rachel, Dave and Janet. As most work part-time, our office is not always manned, but rest assured that emails and phone calls to 01494 715548 will be picked up and acted upon.

You can also keep in touch with us through our website, Facebook page, or (now) Instagram!

Let us know what you think.
